As M&A Integration, Asset Management & Operations Director, Tom helped found TerraForm Global through IPO spin-out as the world's first emerging market clean energy platform. Similarly, he helped found the Ventures unit in Boeing, designing business models for disruptive technologies, and running business development, sales & marketing in complex supply chains for critical infrastructure at global energy-water-food nexuses. After leaving government service as a Lieutenant Commander, he lived in Asia, focusing on energy & critical infrastructure with McKinsey & Co across Asia & Africa, including starting-up a new unit for leadership training and executive coaching.
As a Navy SEAL officer, Tom helped stand-up a new SEAL Team. Their service focused on Asia, culminating in work in Central/SW Asia at the Afghanistan-Pakistan borders and the Middle East. Tom also advised Congressional-level international affairs for the Council on Foreign Relations.
Tom combined 3 grad schools to study in 8 countries on 3 continents: MBA at Stanford with Honors certificates in Global & Public Management; MA work at Johns Hopkins SAIS for international economics & strategy; and MA studies at the Naval War College in risk & strategy. The crucible of the Naval Academy (graduated "With Distinction" in systems engineering) provided technical background that underpins leading high-performing teams in high-tech pursuits.
